The Israel-America Chamber of Commerce held its 2016 annual Chamber Event Monday, November 7, at the Cinema City, Gelilot.
The event, in the presence of President Reuven (Ruvi) Rivlin, was hosted by Chamber chairpersons Ofra Strauss and U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Hon. Daniel Shapiro and was attended by over 400 Chamber Members, leading business people and government officials from Israel and the U.S..

The Chamber IP Committee re-launched in December.  It will initially focus on Counterfitting, on Academia relations with industry from the IP perspectives and other topics. Chamber member The Israel –U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation announced a new Call for Proposals for the "NextGen First Responder Technologies" to promote and fund U.S.-Israel joint development in advanced technologies for First Responders. The total investment will be $12M while each project can receive a conditional grant of up to 50% of their joint R&D budget, to a maximum $1M per project.

The Chamber led a delegation of Israeli water technology companies to the BusinessH2O Summit organized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  The Summit: Water Management Best Practices from the U.S. and Israel was held in Las Vegas. Chamber CEO Oded Rose hosted a panel where all the companies in the delegation had a chance to present their solutions for the water problems faced by water utilities and users. Several companies signed agreements for beta sites and product trials during the Summit. 

The Chamber in association with the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce hosted a delegation of senior business and state officials for a presentation of the advantages of setting up a business in RI.  The Chamber in partnership with Chamber member WeWork and the State of Rhode Island is launching a partnership to bring business people from the state to Tel Aviv for 2-3 week courses on entrepreneurship and innovation.
