June 1, Tel Aviv. The AmCham Israel Board of Directors today voted unanimously to appoint Oren Sagi, Managing Director of Cisco Israel as its new Chairman. Oren succeeds Yaniv Garty, former CEO of Intel Israel, after a five-year service as AmCham's chairman.
Sagi has been serving as the Managing Director, Cisco Israel since 2015. During his tenure, the company significantly expanded its business operations in Israel, acquiring six leading companies and establishing itself as a leading technological powerhouse in the global innovation landscape. Sagi holds a bachelor's degree in law and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Reichman University. He is a registered member of the Israel Bar Association and resides in Ra'anana with his wife and three children.
Sagi also serves on the board of directors of the Israel-America Chamber of Commerce since 2016, the Multinational Corporations Association, and the Executive Committee of the Economic-Social Forum.
Sagi succeeds Yaniv Garty, former CEO of Intel Israel, who held the AmCham Chairman position for the past five years.
Among Garty's notable achievements as Chairman of the Chamber, he handled visa bureaucracy for Israelis and established strategic cooperation frameworks in the healthcare sector between Israel and the United States. The project recently received federal funding for an additional two years. Additionally, Garty promoted the creation of an infrastructure for Israeli companies operating abroad and international companies with operations in Israel; thus, ensuring proper compliance with the new ESG reporting regulations that will come into effect in the United States in January 2024.
The Israel-America Chamber of Commerce brings together approximately 300 Israeli and American companies from diverse sectors, representing about one-third of Israel's economic activity. Recently, the Chamber signed a unique cooperation agreement with the state of Florida in the Health-Tech field, as well as various other economic domains.
