Tel Aviv January 22nd.  Amcham's Board of Directors and leaders of Amcham's Sustaianbility Forum met today with Dr. Dov Khenin, Chairman of Israel's President Herzog's Climate Forum.  The meeting focused on DEGROWTH as laid out in Jason's Hickel's book "Less is More".  The book disucsses how continuous economic growth has led to breakdown of our planet's ecological systems and to the Climate Change.  It rationalizes how the way to tackle these challenges, that are a direct threat to the survivability of humanity as we know it, is by slowing down growth and even reversing it to De-growth.  But what about jobs? What about health? What about progress? This book, and the discussion led by Avi Blau - head of the Afeka College Institute for Circular Engineering, tackle these questions and offer an inspiring vision for what a post-capitalist economy could look like. The Chamber and the Climate Forum decided to convene a joint work-group to continue this discussion and explore practical ways to follow-up.
